logging onto mastodon

mastodon is fairly easy to log on to, just ignore anything but the keycloak prompts and log in via that and you'll be good.

1.) hit "keycloak single sign on"

2.) log in (or register) through the keycloak portal. once again, if you were on nopasaran.red, your login from there should work.

3.) literally that's it, you're logged in.

as for apps, it's similar to loggin into the element app, except mastodon is somewhat broken so whether or not you get the application confirmation screen is a total crapshoot. i have managed to get tusky for android to successfully connect to mastodon, as well as the official mastodon app, but it's really random whether or not it will send you to the app confirmation screen or just log you in on the in-app browser. this is, unfortunately, a bug on mastodon's end that doesn't seem to have very high priority for fixing. if you need any help figuring stuff out re: mastodon apps, or if you want me (elen) to create an app password for you so we can try to get around that problem, hit me up in #tek:communist.accountant on the matrix server.
